Last prep - letzte Vorbereitungen

          

End of May - Early June 2020

This time I'll start in English because that's also how I got started with this whole documentation experience on my Insta channel. For the German version just scroll down a little!

Despite the Coronavirus and the fact that quite a lot of medical appointments and scheduled surgeries had been postponed until recently, I was told that my surgery would be happening on June 8

Preparing myself and also giving myself a treat, I shortened my hair (or rather had it done...) and hope they’re not shaving too much off for surgery - but rather a (visible) scar than a stroke, right?

On June 4 I had all kinds of pre-op exams (e.g. MRI, bloodwork and Corona-Test) and talks at the hospital including another brain scan, so you can see my little „gummybear“ which will hopefully be gone after Monday. Not exactly looking forward to the surgery but hopeful and optimistic about the outcome 🧠 See you next week - though I’m not sure I‘ll post a picture of myself after I heard that I‘ll most probably have a black eye for a while due to the procedure... But I will definitely try to keep you updated.

Pre OP bloodwork

Ende Mai - Anfang Juni 2020

Trotz des Coronavirus und der Tatsache, daß eine ganze Menge von medizinischen Untersuchungen und bereits geplanter OPs verschoben worden waren, wurde mir gesagt, daß meine OP nun definitiv am 08. Juni stattfinden würde.

Um mich darauf vorzubereiten und mir zugleich auch noch selbst etwas zu gönnen, war ich kurz vorher nochmal beim Friseur und habe meine Haare kürzen lassen und auch frisch gefärbt (ich bin nämlich schon ziemlich grau für mein Alter). Und ich hoffe natürlich, daß bei der OP dann nicht zuviel Haar wegrasiert wird, aber lieber eine (sichtbare) Narbe als ein Schlaganfall! Wieviel ich dann direkt nach der OP von mir werde zeigen wollen, werdet Ihr sehen; mir wurde bereits angekündigt, daß ich vermutlich erstmal ein dickes, blaues Auge haben werde. Aber ich werde natürlich trotzdem Updates geben, so weit möglich!

Am 04. Juni liefen die Voruntersuchungen (MRT, Blutabnahme, Corona-Abstrich) und auch schon die eigentliche Aufnahme, obwohl ich dann erst am Sonntag wirklich zur stationären Aufnahme mußte. Unter anderem könnt Ihr hier auch noch ein „Foto“ meines Tumors sehen.
